6 trade down scenarios for Colts on Day 2 of NFL draft

What trades could the Colts make on Day 2?

Trade with Los Angeles

Colts trade: 44
Rams trade: 52 + 104

If the Rams are looking to make a big splash early in the second round, they have a prime spot to do so. This trade wouldn’t move the Colts too far back and they would still get to keep their No. 34 pick. Instead, they move eight spots back while adding a late third-round pick. If the Rams want to move up for a tackle edge rushers Curtis Weaver or Yetur Gross-Matos, the might be calling the Colts.

Trade with Denver

Colts trade: 34
Broncos trade: 46 + 83

The Broncos are reportedly among the teams looking to move up in the second round, and the Colts would be likely targeting on their three third-round picks. It would be unlikely that the Colts would get the No. 77 pick but if the Broncos want to move up that badly 12 spots, they might have to fork over the No. 83 overall pick. This would give the Colts two second-rounders (44, 46) and two third-rounders (75, 83).

Trade with Atlanta

Colts trade: 34
Falcons trade: 47 + 78

There is a chance that Chris Ballard has his eyes on a future 2021 pick rather than another third-rounder this year. However, the Falcons are another team trying to trade up after taking a cornerback during the first round of the draft. Ballard might try to get more than a third-round pick in this deal, but seeing as they are a team looking to move up, it’s possible.
