On Monday, five-star 2024 tight end Landen Thomas flipped his commitment from Georgia to Florida State.
Thomas ranks as the nation’s No. 24 overall player and as the No. 1 tight end. He attends Colquitt County High School in Moultrie, Georgia. Thomas had been committed to UGA since July.
Georgia now has 11 players in its 2024 class, with five-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV being the top ranked player at No. 7. Thomas was Georgia’s second-highest ranked player prior to his decommitment.

Georgia should be fine at the position for the future, though losing a talent like Thomas still hurts. For 2023, Georgia’s set with Brock Bowers and Oscar Delp. There’s also true freshmen Lawson Luckie and Pearce Spurlin III, who both signed as 4-stars in the class of 2023.
All but Bowers will return after this season. Plus, Georgia picked up a commitment from 2025 five-star tight end Elyiss Williams last week, who ranks as the No. 1 tight end in the nation for his class.
