Here we are! Starting a new week. Now that the holiday is over, it’s time to move on to the rest of July—down to 54 days until the start of the UCLA Bruins season. Today, we introduce you to one of the oldest players on the Bruins roster: offensive lineman Josh Carlin.
Proudly wearing uniform number 54, Carlin, an offensive lineman from Westlake Village California is 6’5, and weighs 310lbs. Carlin is a redshirt senior this season following his high school career at Sierra Canyon.
A season ago, he played in all 13 games at right guard. He was a big reason the Bruins led by conference in rushing yards per game. In 2022 he played nine games and in 2021 he was able to play in all 12.
This past spring, Carlin was seen being a big-time team leader, which is something Coach Foster and his staff certainly will love to see this fall. This was Carlin speaking after fall practice back in April:

UCLA and Hawaii are set to tip off on August 31st.
Special Shout-out: With 54 days to go, it is a good time to remind fans of the 1954 Bruins football team. They went 9-0 that season and finished as the top team in the Coaches poll, and second in the Associated Press poll. UCLA went 6-0 in Pacific Coast Conference play as well. The 1954 team had five shut-outs on the season, and only allowed a total of 40 points in 9 games!
