5 thoughts about Godfall, a fun but flawed PlayStation 5 exclusive

Godfall doesn’t live up to expectations, but is it still worth your time?

Buying a new game at a console launch is always a gamble, and with price increases for the next generation of hardware, an expensive gamble at that. Games available early in a console’s lifespan are rarely as polished or refined as ones developed years into the cycle, and we’ve seen several games launched this year that would be more accurately described as PS4.5 games.

Godfall, from developer Counterplay Games, certainly has the look of a fully-fledged next-gen title. It’s a dazzling and flashy visual showcase of the new PlayStation 5, but how does it hold up as an overall package?

In my hours with Godfall, I found a solid foundation for what could be a great game in the future, but at the same time, an obvious launch title that could have used some more time in development.
