Maturity is Not an Issue
Look, we've now talked to Chase Young just twice, and we'll hopefully talk to him a lot, lot, lot more in the future. But the maturity and focus that his past coaches and Ron Rivera have been touting recently is pretty obvious already. Seems very thoughtful and focused

Chase Young shows off a maturity and football smarts beyond his years when he speaks. The 16.5 sacks draw a lot of attention, but he also he prides himself on his run defense. Redskins were 2nd to last giving up 146 a GM. #httr #redskins #chaseyoung

Part of the maturity — Chase Young, loves the fact his family won’t have to travel for home games. They can come back and have a family bbq. He is also already learning how to say “no”. Setting boundaries early. #httr #redskins #chaseyoung

This isn’t so much about any one thing that Chase Young said during the interview, but a feeling that was given off as a whole. We’ve only had a couple of chances to talk to him, but Young seems to have an extremely level head, and he’s aware of the challenges and successes that are ahead of him. While he is a dominant player on the field, the Redskins can feel comfortable that he is very self-aware off of it, and they likely won’t need to worry about him getting his nose into anything that’s going to hurt his career. All in all, this addition of Chase Young to the team is going to do wonders for the franchise as a whole.
