After months and months of speculation, it seems that the Los Angeles Angels are at least considering a trade of superstar Shohei Ohtani.
Per MLB’s Jon Morosi, trading Ohtani is “not being ruled out” by Los Angeles ahead of the MLB’s Aug. 1 trade deadline.
“The club is not ruling out the possibility of a deadline deal, even though the standard to move Ohtani is extraordinarily high,” Morosi wrote. “The team’s performance over the upcoming homestand will be a big consideration in the Angels’ ultimate course. At this point, many in the industry still view a trade as unlikely.”
While Morosi did highlight the unlikelihood of the deal, it does make you wonder what would happen if the Angels did move on from Ohtani before his contract expires at the end of the season.
