Now that it appears that Michigan football has moved on from five-year defensive coordinator Don Brown, assuming Jim Harbaugh gets the contract extension that he and Warde Manuel are working on, he’ll have some decisions to make.
It isn’t quite as simple as it was in 2016 when the team needed to replace D.J. Durkin. Brown, at the time, had coordinated the top defense in the country at Boston College, so it was an easy call to make. But now, with it being an odd year for college football, and with many not having the track records that Brown had back then, it’s tougher to evaluate how to get the Michigan football defense back on the right track.
That said, we’re taking a stab at it. Here are five candidates who could become the Wolverines’ next defensive coordinator.
