5 burning questions heading into UFC on ESPN+ 29

The UFC goes right back into action Wednesday night in Jacksonville, and MMA Junkie’s Dave Doyle breaks down the key storylines.

Can Ray Borg finally get it all together?

Some of [autotag]Ray Borg[/autotag]’s issues over the years have been of his own making, most specifically his ongoing weight issue at both flyweight and bantamweight. Others, such as his son’s well publicized health issues and falling victim to Conor McGregor’s van attack at UFC 223 media day, in which he suffered an eye injury, have been through no fault of his own.

And yet, through all the ups and downs of his memorable UFC run, Borg (13-4 MMA, 7-4 UFC) is still only 26 years old. And he’s on a two-fight winning streak heading into his bantamweight bout with [autotag]Ricky Simon[/autotag].

For one thing, the way Borg and Simon (15-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) can bring the action when they’re on, this is a sleeper pick for a potential “Fight of the Night” bonus. For another, a victory here would give Borg three in a row for the fist time since 2015.

For all he’s been through, don’t count him out just yet.
