4-star WR Darrius Clemons, the No. 1 player in Oregon, places Ducks in top 3

The Ducks are looking to keep the top talent in Oregon, landing in the top 3 for 4-star WR Darrius Clemons, the top-ranked player in the state.

The mark of a great recruiting team is when you can keep the best talent in your home state.

That’s exactly what the Oregon Ducks are trying to do, landing in the top 3 for the recruitment of Darrius Clemons, a 4-star wide receiver from Westview High School who is ranked as the No. 1 player in the state of Oregon.

Clemons, who stands at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, will ultimately choose between the Ducks, Penn State, and Auburn.

The four-star wide receiver ranks No. 134 overall and the 20th best wide receiver on the 247 Sports composite. Clemons would walk into a great situation with the Ducks, joining a receiving corp that includes both Troy Franklin and Dont’e Thornton, with either Ty Thompson, Jay Butterfield, or Robby Ashford throwing him the ball.

“Has terrific body control and ability to adjust to all passes, both low and high, with strong hands able to catch everything in traffic,” said National Recruiting editor Brandon Huffman, according to Duck Territory. “Polished route runner with the ability to catch passes in tight spaces. Tough over the middle. Consistently gets separation. Projects as multi-year Power 5 starter and projects as a second-day pick.”
