Four-star linebacker recruit Joseph Phillips has committed to the Auburn Tigers. Phillips is an elite recruit in the class of 2024.

The four-star committed to Auburn football over Georgia, Clemson, Tennessee and Texas A&M. Phillips is one of Auburn’s top ranked recruits in the 2024 recruiting cycle. The Tigers currently have the No. 36 recruiting class in the country with eight commitments.

Joseph Phillips plays high school football and basketball for Booker T. Washington High School in Tuskegee, Alabama. Phillips is ranked as the No. 125 recruit in the class of 2024. The four-star linebacker is considered the No. 10 linebacker in the country and the No. 8 recruit in Alabama.

Recently, Georgia has been among the top college football programs at recruiting elite linebacker talent. Georgia inside linebackers coach Glenn Schumann helped the Dawgs secure the nation’s best haul at the linebacker position during the last recruiting cycle. The Bulldogs do an excellent job of developing NFL-ready linebackers, which strengthens their recruiting pitch.

However, Georgia missed out on Joseph Phillips. The Dawgs will turn to other top targets at the linebacker position.

Linebacker remains a position of need in the 2024 recruiting cycle for the Dawgs. Five-star linebacker Demarcus Riddick is Georgia’s lone inside linebacker commitment in the class of 2024. Georgia has the nation’s top rated class of 2024.
