Florida football’s recruiting team continues to reel in the official visits for this summer as the program fights and claws its way back into prominence in the prep scene. New head coach [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and his army of staffers have been busy this month getting out to see many of their prospects on their home turf but as the calendar turns to June, the focus will shift back to Gainesville.
One of the more recent recruits to set his official visit date is four-star wide receiver [autotag]Aidan Mizell[/autotag] out of Boone in Orlando, Florida. His mother Ebony Robinson-Mizell told Swamp247 that her son will be swinging through to visit the Swamp on the weekend of June 3-5 — the same dates that four-star defensive lineman Kelby Collins will also be making his official visit.
The 6-foot-2-inch, 180-pound pass-catcher cut his list of suitors down to seven recently, including Florida as well as the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Tennessee Volunteers, Oklahoma Sooners, UCF Knights, and USC Trojans. The Orange and Blue hold an edge legacy-wise with the young athlete as his parents both ran track at UF. Mizell offered the following to 247Sports’ Andrew Ivins when asked about mom and dad.
“Of course they love Florida. They went there. They would like me to go there, but they aren’t pushing me there in any way. Still, you can tell that my mom wants me to go there probably more than any other school. My dad is more open and doesn’t care where I’m going.”
In regards to his impression of Florida’s football program after two visits in April on top of numerous visits when he was younger, Mizell kept it simple.
“I just like what the coaches are trying to do. Obviously, I have a great relationship with Napier and Coach [Keary] Colbert and I just love their energy and how they are trying to bring Florida back to what it was.”
Mizell is ranked No. 155 overall and No. 22 at his position, according to the 247Sports Composite, while the On3 Consensus has him at Nos. 103 and 17, respectively. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Gators way out front for his talents with a 93.8% chance of landing him.
