4-star 2024 EDGE Drew Campbell picks up third crystal ball to Iowa Hawkeyes

The Iowa Hawkeyes picked up another crystal ball prediction for talented 2024 edge rusher Drew Campbell entering last weekend.

Along with fellow 2024 athlete Brevin Doll, Iowa picked up another 247Sports crystal ball prediction for a talented in-state standout and Hawkeye legacy.

247Sports’ Allen Trieu issued a crystal ball prediction last Friday for the Hawkeyes to land edge rusher Drew Campbell out of Cedar Falls High School. Trieu joins his colleagues Sean Bock and David Eickholt from Hawkeye Insider as 247Sports reporters to forecast Campbell to Iowa.

Of course, Drew is the younger brother of Jack Campbell who just became Iowa’s first-ever Butkus Award winner. After being offered on July 31, 2022, Drew caught up with Hawk Fanatic to discuss the Hawkeyes extending him the offer.

“I felt pretty good knowing all the hard work is paying off. They said they’re really impressed with my toughness and abilities on the field,” Campbell said.

He also added then that Jack’s success with the Hawkeyes shows what Iowa can do for a player but that his relationship with Iowa would have no part of his decision.

“We got to tour everything. The thing that stood out to me was how much they are able to develop kids into great players,” Campbell said of his late July visit.

Campbell also holds offers from Kansas State, Iowa State and Northern Iowa. According to his Twitter, Campbell registered 63 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 10 sacks last season with Cedar Falls.

Per 247Sports, Campbell is a three-star prospect, the nation’s No. 38 edge rusher and the No. 6 player from Iowa. In the 247Sports composite rankings, the 6-foot-4, 225 pound product is regarded as the No. 519 player nationally, the No. 40 edge rusher and the No. 5 player from Iowa.

Rivals rates Campbell as a three-star recruit and as the No. 11 weak side defensive end. Lastly, On3 ranks Campbell as the No. 226 player nationally, the No. 21 edge rusher and as the second-best player from Iowa. In the On3 consensus rankings, the No. 571 player nationally, the 39th edge rusher and the sixth-best player from Iowa..
