49ers Week 6 practice report: LG Aaron Banks limited with shoulder injury

A good sign for #49ers starting LG Aaron Banks on Wednesday’s practice participation report:

The 49ers’ first practice participation report of Week 6 had a lot of names on it, but only two for injury-related reasons.

Running back Elijah Mitchell is still out while dealing with a knee injury he suffered in a practice leading up to Week 4. He’s missed the last two games and an early non-participation isn’t a good sign for his Week 5 availability. Head coach Kyle Shanahan continues saying Mitchell is day-to-day, but early indications point to Mitchell missing a third consecutive week.

There was somewhat good news for left guard Aaron Banks who was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday’s session. He’s day-to-day with a mild shoulder strain so even a limited practice is a positive sign. Ideally he’d be a full participant, but limited work to open the week is still pointing his arrow in the right direction.

Veteran offensive lineman Jon Feliciano filled in at LG for Banks after the starter exited Sunday night’s game with what was originally feared to be a biceps injury.

Other players who showed up as non-participants were linebacker Dre Greenlaw, tight end George Kittle and left tackle Trent Williams. All three were listed as “not injury related – resting player.” They should be back Thursday.
