49ers romp and Brock Purdy goes to 8-0 as starter in regular season

The 49ers crushed the Giants to improve to 3-0

Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers handled the New York Giants, 30-12, Thursday night at Levi’s Stadium.

The victory moved the NFC West team to 3-0 — the Niners have won 13 in a row overall in the regular season — and boosted their second-year QB’s overall mark as a starter to 8-0.

While Purdy wasn’t exceptionally sharp, especially in the first half, he threw for 310 yards on 25 completions, two going for touchdowns.

The first TD pass went to fellow seventh-round pick Ronnie Bell in the second quarter.

The other one was good for 27 yards to Deebo Samuel to close out the scoring.

The Giants are 1-2 and next play at home against the Seattle Seahawks a week from Monday.
