49ers injury report: Deebo Samuel likely out vs. Saints

The 49ers will likely be without wide receiver Deebo Samuel against the New Orleans Saints while he deals with a hamstring injury.

The 49ers haven’t officially ruled out wide receiver Deebo Samuel vs. the New Orleans Saints, but another absence from practice Thursday points toward the second-year receiver missing his third consecutive game with a hamstring injury.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan was on KNBR in San Francisco and said Samuel was a “long shot” to suit up against the Saints. A more likely opportunity for him to return is Week 12 against the Rams.

Samuel on Thursday was one of three receivers out of practice. River Cracraft on Wednesday was limited with a quad injury and didn’t participate Thursday which puts his status for Sunday in jeopardy. Kendrick Bourne also remains on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

Trent Taylor, who missed Wednesday with a back injury, returned Thursday. It looks like Brandon Aiyuk, Richie James and Taylor will be the three starting receivers in New Orleans.

Here’s the full participation report for Thursday:

Did not participate

RB Tevin Coleman (knee)
WR River Cracraft (quadricep)
LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (hamstring)
WR Deebo Samuel (hamstring)
CB K’Waun Williams (ankle)

Full participation

WR Trent Taylor (back)
