49ers inactives: Emmanuel Moseley out with hamstring injury

The San Francisco 49ers secondary took another hit with Emmanuel Moseley sidelined for Monday Night Football.

A hamstring injury that left 49ers cornerback Emmanuel Moseley limited all week in practice will keep him out of Monday night’s game against the Bills.

Moseley was officially listed as questionable, but was ruled out when his name appeared among the 49ers’ list of inactives. Second-year cornerback Tim Harris was flexed from the practice squad to the active roster. Ahkello Witherspoon will also be active for the first time since Week 8.

It’s unclear how the 49ers will operate with nickel cornerbacks K’Waun Williams and Jamar Taylor out. Moseley took Taylor’s place last week, but the depth behind him his relatively thin.

Jimmie Ward could conceivably play nickel. Dontae Johnson, Witherspoon and Harris are the other healthy corners who could get shuffled in.

Here’s the full list of inactives:

CB Emmanuel Moseley (hamstring)
CB K’Waun Williams (ankle)
WR Trent Taylor
RB Austin Walter

It’s also unclear who’ll return punts with Taylor listed as a healthy scratch. WR Richie James Jr. has been the team’s punt returner the last couple seasons. Rookie WR Brandon Aiyuk is capable of returning punts as well.

The 49ers and Bills kick off at 5:15 pm Pacific.
