49ers inactives: Deebo Samuel officially active for 49ers

The #49ers will officially have WR Deebo Samuel in uniform vs. the Bengals.

The 49ers on Sunday officially made wide receiver Deebo Samuel active for their showdown with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Samuel missed San Francisco’s game in Seattle last week with a groin injury. Head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated the ailment would take one or two weeks to heal. Samuel missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, but returned in a limited fashion Friday. He was listed as ‘questionable’ on the status report, but was not among the list of inactives for Sunday’s game.

Here’s who won’t suit up for San Francisco:

RB Elijah Mitchell (concussion, knee)
LB Dre Greenlaw (groin)
DL Maurice Hurst (calf)
CB Dontae Johnson (personal)
LB Tyrell Adams
OL Colton McKivitz

There aren’t any surprises here, but the Johnson absence does leave the 49ers exceedingly thin at cornerback. Josh Norman will run alongside either rookie Deommodore Lenoir or rookie Ambry Thomas. Saivion Smith is up from the practice squad and also available.
