Philadelphia Eagles games are many things. They are rarely normal.
The NFC leaders have been exceptional with fourth quarter comebacks and stunning turnarounds. They’ve seen Taylor Swift’s immediate family in the stands and countless tush pushes. Philly’s been the backdrop for 60-plus yard field goals to force overtime in rainy conditions and honest-to-god losses to Zach Wilson, football disaster.
But I don’t think anyone could have expected a tussle between a linebacker and the Eagles’ head of security, leading to dueling ejections. Here’s what happened after Dre Greenlaw suplexed DeVonta Smith on the Philly sideline. Team staffer Dom DiSandro, now headed toward local legend status, got in his personal space to de-escalate (or escalate, depending on your view) the situation.
And then this:

DiSandro put his hand on Greenlaw’s chest in order, it appears, to separate the San Francisco 49er star from Smith. Greenlaw took exception to this, attempted to point emphatically and swiped his hand right into DiSandro’s face. That led to a 15-yard penalty against the Niners and ejections for both the player and staffer midway through the third quarter of a crucial NFC showdown.
Needless to say, fans and analysts had thoughts.
