48 days till the Cardinals’ season opener against the Bills

The last player to make any impact while wearing No. 48 was Isaiah Simmons as a rookie in 2020.

The new week begins and the Arizona Cardinals are only one day away from the start of training camp, as they report on Tuesday, July 23.

That means we are one day closer to the start of the regular season. The Cardinals are 48 days away from their Week 1 road game at Highmark Stadium against the Buffalo Bills.

Nobody on the roster currently wears No. 48 and it has not been a widely used number.

The last player to wear it and have some impact was linebacker Isaiah Simmons, who wore No. 48 during his rookie season.

Simmons was the eighth overall pick in the 2020 draft and during his rookie season, he had 54 total tackles, two sacks, an interception, two pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

He never blossomed into the star that the Cardinals hoped he would be and was traded before last season, but he did make a bit of an impact in 202 while he wore No. 48.
