4 potential Chargers who stood out during Day 3 of Senior Bowl practices

Chargers Wire’s Gavino Borquez lays out the four potential Los Angeles Chargers who stood out during Day 3 of Senior Bowl practices.

Joshua Kelley | RB | UCLA

Kelly was mentioned earlier this week as a player that Chargers fans should keep their eye on, and the UCLA product put on a showing that garnered the attention. The 5-foot-10 and 214 pound back was a force in all three phases that the position requires to finish the week of practices: Efficient running, pass-catching, pass-blocking. Kelley was extremely quick, showing the footwork of a back 30 pounds lighter. He displayed good vision, the ability to make defenders miss and a burst of speed. He made an exceptional catch down the sideline on one play, and was stymieing defenders in the pass-blocking drills. Kelley has proven that he would be a great addition that a backfield that’ll feature the tandem of Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson, assuming Melvin Gordon isn’t re-signed.
