After a back and forth battle with the Chicago Bulls, the Golden State Warriors’ chances of recording their first win of the season came down to the final shot.
Zach LaVine pushed the Bulls to a 41 point third quarter, giving Chicago a seven-point lead over the Warriors heading into the fourth quarter. However, Steph Curry tallied 13 points in the final 12 minutes to lead the Warriors in a comeback bid.
With 16 seconds remaining, Kevon Looney tipped in a miss from Andrew Wiggins to tie the game at 121. LaVine quickly answered, hitting a pull up runner to give Chicago a two-point lead with five seconds on the clock. The Bulls’ defense on the inbound forced the ball into the hands of an unlikely hero for a last-second shot from the Warriors.
Damion Lee drilled a 26-foot 3-pointer from the top of the key to give the Warriors their first win of the 2020-21 campaign, 129-128.
Following his game-winner, Lee was mobbed by his Golden State teammates as Chicago’s heave at the buzzer was off course.

After struggling to hit shots in the first two games of the season, the Warriors registered a season-high 40.4% from the field against Chicago. With their shots beginning to fall, the Warriors dropped a season-best 18 3-pointers in their dramatic win over the Bulls.
Following their last-second win in Chicago, the Warriors will have the opportunity to end their four-game road trip on a high note with a final stop in Detroit.
