4 Dolphins sit out Thursday practice, WR Jaylen Waddle returns

Jaylen Waddle was back on the practice field Thursday for the first time since suffering a knee injury in Week 15.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle was back on the practice field Thursday for the first time since suffering a knee injury in a Week 15 loss to the Houston Texans.

“I’ve learned over time to not forecast with him, just his pain tolerance, his competitiveness,” Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said of Waddle earlier this week. “I’ve been talking to our head athletic trainer at length about making sure that we protect him from himself because he’s one of those guys that will try to will himself to performance. So we’ll see how the week progresses.”

Aside from the return of Waddle, the only other difference between the Dolphins’ Thursday injury report and the team’s Wednesday estimation was the return of defensive lineman Calais Campbell who gets the first practice off for rest each week.
