The No. 40 safety in the 2021 class, O’Brien originally committed to the Tigers on February 1. Out of Deerfield Beach, Fla., he also has offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU and a number of other top programs.
O’Brien was recruited by Larry Porter and Wesley McGriff, two coaches who might not be on Bryan Harsin’s staff.
