3-star OL’s commitment decision will come down to LSU and Florida State

LSU could strengthen its offensive line by landing the three-star recruit.

Class of 2021 three-star offensive lineman Kimo Makaneole could have signed with Florida State in December, but an offer from the LSU Tigers has him mulling over this decision.

He’s made it clear that the decision will come down between the two programs.

Makaneole, currently ranked by 247Sports as the No. 28 offensive guard and the No. 73 player in the state of Florida, indicated to Rivals.com earlier this month that he was waiting until February to sign because of the scholarship LSU offered him in August.

He visited LSU when the Tigers played Ole Miss, and seemed impressed with what he saw in Baton Rouge.

“Me and my family really loved the visit,” he said.  “It was awesome seeing the Tiger Walk and campus. It was just a huge atmosphere over there.”

LSU’s 2021 class currently has 20 players signed to it and is ranked No. 4 in the country.

It will be interesting to see if the Florida-native makes the leap to join a program beyond his own backyard, allowing LSU to strengthen its offensive line in turn.
