Michigan football has a rich history of having some of the top wideouts in college football.

While we haven’t seen nearly the amount of big-time receivers coming out of Ann Arbor in recent years, it used to be rote that if you were a pass-catcher wearing maize and blue, chances were that you were going to end up on an NFL team. We’ve seen players like David Terrell, Tai Streets, Derrick Alexander and Amani Toomer all go from productive careers on Main St. to having solid careers in the pros.

ESPN advanced stats analyst Bill Connelly decided to look at the best receivers at the college level in the past 50 years, which really leaves out a lot of the top names in the sport. Yet, three Wolverines made the cut, and it’s no surprise that any of the three were among the best of the best in the entire sport. With three selectees, Michigan is tied with USC, Oklahoma State, LSU and Alabama with top honors. No Ohio State players made the cut.
