3 Washington opponents rise to the top 15 of Week 8 US LBM Coaches Poll

Three of Washington’s last five opponents are now ranked in the top 15 of the Week 8 US LBM Coaches Poll.

Following a brutal 40-16 loss to Iowa and an off week, it’s no surprise that the 4-3 Washington Huskies did not receive any votes in the Week 8 US LBM Coaches Poll. The Hawkeyes also dropped out of the receiving votes category after dropping Saturday’s contest against Michigan State, 32-20.

With each passing week, however, Washington’s remaining schedule looks more and more daunting. Indiana rose five spots to No. 13 after a crushing 56-7 victory over Nebraska. College GameDay will travel to Bloomington for the first time for that game, putting the Huskies even more under the microscope on Saturday.

Penn State, who the Huskies will visit in three weeks for the Nittany Lions’ annual White Out game, held strong at No. 3 after an off week. A 35-0 win over Purdue on Friday night was enough for Oregon to jump to the top spot in the rankings after last week’s No. 1 Texas dropped the week’s premier contest to Georgia.

Washington will visit Oregon to end the season on November 30, likely with a chance to play spoiler for the Ducks’ run.

Here’s what the rest of the top 25 looks like.
