3 Titans make NFL’s ‘Top 100 Players of 2021’ list on first night

The NFL unveiled No. 100-41 on Sunday night, and three Titans have made the cut so far.

NFL Network revealed No. 100-41 of the “Top 100 Players of 2021” list on Sunday night, which is compiled by votes from players around the league, and three Tennessee Titans made the cut in the first group.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill comes in at No. 83 on the list, followed by defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons at No. 78, and then wide receiver A.J. Brown at No. 62.

For Simmons and Brown, this is their first appearance on the annual list, so it’s great to see both getting some national love. Brown in particular was a major snub on the 2020 version.

Tannehill is actually ranked 15 spots lower than he was going into 2020 despite having another great year in Nashville.

The last two parts of the list will be revealed next week, with No. 40-11 coming on Aug. 22, followed by the top 10 on Aug. 28.

We expect to see our King, running back Derrick Henry, at least make the cut in the top 10 once again this year. He was listed at No. 10 in 2020, and after a 2,000-yard season and another rushing title, he should be moving up and own the highest ranking of any back in the NFL.

It’s possible we could also see wide receiver Julio Jones make the cut, but we are tempering expectations after his 2020 campaign was cut short due to injury. Jones landed one spot behind Henry at No. 11 last year.
