3 things to know: Warriors seal first four-game winning streak of season with victory over Cavs, 119-101

With a 119-101 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Golden State Warriors have sealed their first four-game winning-streak of the 2020-21 season.

After an up and down run through the 2020-21 campaign, the Golden State Warriors have finally secured their long-awaited four-game winning streak.

Steph Curry tacked on another 30-plus point performance while Golden State’s bench exploded to lead the Warriors to a 119-101 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. 

On Thursday, Curry tallied his ninth consecutive game with 32 or more points on a 33 point effort on 12-of-25 shooting from the floor in 35 minutes. Curry added five assists, four rebounds and two blocks in Golden State’s win over the Cavs. During his recent run, Curry is averaging 38.2 points on 54.5% from the field and 47.1% from beyond the arc.

The Warriors will look to extend their streak to five consecutive wins on Saturday in a primetime battle with the Boston Celtics.

Juan Toscano-Anderson 

Juan Toscano-Anderson led a furious effort from Golden State’s second unit, tallying a career-high 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the field. Toscano-Anderson shot it well from deep, hitting a trio of 3-pointers on four attempts from long distance. The Oakland native grabbed seven boards along with three assists, a block and a steal. 

Recording 31 minutes against the Cavaliers, the two-way forward looks to be cementing himself in the rotation for Golden State’s stretch run before the postseason. 

Bench Mob 

While Toscano-Anderson led the way with 20 points, two other members of Golden State’s second unit tallied double-figures in scoring.

Jordan Poole stayed hot, registering 14 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the floor in 23 minutes off the bench. Damion Lee added 11 points on 5-of-8 from the field with five boards an assist against the Cavaliers.

With injuries to James Wiseman and Kelly Oubre Jr., the Warriors will need to continue leaning on their second unit during their five-game road swing. 

Highlight of the night

Although Steph Curry danced past Cleveland’s defense for a flurry of impressive plays, Draymond Green stole the show with a highlight-reel dunk. 

With under five minutes remaining, Green exploded to the rim after a pass from Curry for a powerful one-handed slam. Following Green and Curry’s pick and roll, the former Defensive Player of the Year soared past Larry Nance Jr. for a rim-rocking jam.
