The Brooklyn Nets (13-12) lost 124-120 on Saturday to the Golden State Warriors (11-14) and while the contest were mostly lopsided in the first half, the Nets impressively battled back in the second half. Thanks to a massive 41-point game from Cam Thomas and second-half heroics from Spencer Dinwiddie and Nic Claxton, Brooklyn was able to make matters interesting until the very end.
The game was marred by yet another poor defensive performance from the Nets as they allowed Brandin Podziemski, Dario Saric, and Andrew Wiggins to combine for 45 points on 16-of-32 (50%) shooting from the field and 7-of-13 (53.8%) from behind the three-point line. It also didn’t help that Stephen Curry (37 points) and Klay Thompson (24 points) were virtually unstoppable all game long.
Saturday’s showed what Nets fans have seen throughout this season: the Nets are capable of competing with anyone other than the very best teams in the league. With that being said, here are three takeaways from Saturday’s loss to the Warriors:
