3 Sixers coaches in attendance of Pelicans vs. Timberwolves matchup

3 Philadelphia 76ers coaches attended the New Orleans Pelicans vs. Minnesota Timberwolves matchup.

The Philadelphia 76ers continue their four-game road trip when they take on the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday. With two days off since their last contest, a loss to the Washington Wizards on Tuesday, some of the coaches took in the Pelicans game on Wednesday.

New Orleans hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves, and coach Doc Rivers as well as assistants Spencer Rivers and Sam Cassell were in attendance. There are probably multiple reasons the coaches are there: They can get a head start on scouting the Pelicans and for Austin Rivers.

The Minnesota guard is the son of Doc and the brother of Spencer, so that is a special case for the Rivers family on Wednesday.

Doc also caught up with Bally Sports North’s Katie Storm to discuss Austin and his career as well as his role with the Timberwolves.

Doc and the Sixers will take on the Pelicans on Friday before finishing the road trip against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday.
