Kira Lewis Jr., Alabama
Another one of those needs that the Sixers have is bench scoring as well as a backup point guard. Lewis Jr. fits both of those needs as he averaged 18.5 points and 5.2 assists while making All-SEC Team for the Crimson Tide. He gets to the foul line at a good rate, he’s a good defender, and he has shown that he can, eventually, become a good shooter at 36.6% from deep. Rookie Wire has Lewis Jr. mocked to the Milwaukee Bucks at 19 so this is another prospect that they would most likely have to trade up for.
The Sixers tried to use Raul Neto to backup Simmons, but he has not been consistent at all. They then traded for Alec Burks at the deadline, but he is scheduled to be a free agent this offseason. Lewis Jr. fills that need right now and he can also play in tandem with Simmons due to his ball-handling ability combined with the team’s wish to make Simmons a roller in the pick-and-roll.
