3 Oklahoma Sooners taken in the latest mock draft from Pro Football Focus

3 Oklahoma Sooners were selected in the latest three-round mock draft from Pro Football Focus.

With the Oklahoma Sooners draft prospects done with the NFL scouting combine and their pro day, they are preparing for meeting with teams and individual workouts. The draft is less than six weeks away and with 12 players declared, the Sooners could have one of their biggest draft classes in recent years.

In Pro Football Focus’ latest three-round mock draft, three Sooners were taken in the top two rounds.

51. Brian Asamoah to the Philadelphia Eagles

Brian Asamoah has seen his name shoot up mock drafts in the last couple of months after an impressive Senior Bowl performance. He has followed that by testing well at the combine and Oklahoma’s pro day. Now, he looks solidified as a second-round prospect.

Going to the Eagles, Asamoah would have a chance to play right away for a defense that finished 18th in points allowed in 2021.

52. Perrion Winfrey to the Pittsburgh Steelers

Like Asamoah, Perrion Winfrey has risen in the ranks of mock drafters over the last couple of months with his own impressive Senior Bowl performance. The Sooners defensive tackle has impressed with his strength, explosiveness, and intensity during the draft process. Like Asamoah, he should be a second-round pick.

A hamstring strain that occurred at the combine kept him from performing at pro day, but that shouldn’t stop him from being ready to go for training camp and the preseason.

The Pittsburgh Steelers need help along the defensive line. Though they were first in sacks in 2021, they also allowed five yards per carry, which was worst in the NFL last season.

61. Nik Bonitto to the San Francisco 49ers

Nik Bonitto quietly remains one of the best values among Oklahoma Sooners draft prospects. Bonitto is already a really good pass rusher and still has high upside. Landing in a place like San Francisco would be a great fit, playing across from standout edge rusher Nick Bosa.
