3 offensive lineman the Redskins should target in 2020 NFL free agency

Depending on what takes place between Trent Williams and the Redskins, Washington should look to free agency for a new left tackle.

Beachum is about to hit the free agency market for the first time since 2017 after completing a three-year contract with the Jets. After starting his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and spending a year with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Beachum really found a nice role for himself in New York where he has helped to give young QB Sam Darnold some time to work in the pocket. For that reason alone, the Jets could undoubtedly offer Beachum a nice chunk of change in order to keep some stability on the front line as they hope to enter a stretch of success going forward.

In his 13 games in 2019, Beachum rarely committed mistakes, racking up only 7 penalties in that time. His durability has also been key to his success, as he played 100 percent of snaps in both 2017 and 2018. A nagging ankle injury caused him to miss a few games this past season.

Standing at 6-3, 308 pounds, Beachum would form a nice wall on the left side of the line, assuming that the Redskins choose to re-sign Ereck Flowers at the left guard position, which many believe he will do after having a bounce-back year in 2019 with Washington.
