3 observations: The Brooklyn Nets obliterate the Celtics in Game 2

The Brooklyn Nets managed to protect home court advantage following a win over the Boston Celtics in Game 2.

With all the momentum following a Game 1 victory over the Boston Celtics, the Brooklyn Nets easily extended their advantage with a Game 2 blowout. To start the game, Joe Harris was a man possessed. Harris went for 16 points in the first quarter alone. He added six more points in the second quarter to cap off a 22-point half. In the process, the sharpshooter broke the Nets franchise record for most three-pointers made in a half with six.

Offensively, the Nets didn’t have a problem at all. It was their defense though that kept Boston distanced. Brooklyn held them to 38 percent shooting while also forcing nine turnovers. At the half, the Nets had a big lead, comfortably sitting on a score of 71-47.

The second half was guaranteed to have more offense in store for us. Especially from Brooklyn. The Nets put up 38 points in just the third quarter. Kevin Durant was one of the main factors responsible. Durant scored 14 points in the quarter alone to secure a team-high of 26 points with only one period remaining. Steve Nash’s squad led 109-82 going into the fourth quarter.

Brooklyn comfortably took care of business in the fourth quarter. Not only did they prevent the Celtics from getting back into the game. They also earned the chance to rest their starters. KD finished the game with the team high with 26-points while Joe Harris (25 PTS) marked this game as the start of something big. Harris scored a playoff career-high in points and this was with the rest in the fourth quarter, where he played limited minutes. The Brooklyn Nets took the victory 130-108.
