3 observations: Ben Simmons’ career night not enough, Sixers fall to Jazz

Ben Simmons had a huge night on the offensive end, but the Philadelphia 76ers fell to the Utah Jazz on the road.

The Philadelphia 76ers had a whirlwind Monday in Salt Lake City. They were expecting to have big man Joel Embiid in the lineup after he was listed as questionable with back tightness, but then he was a late scratch against the Utah Jazz and he was missed.

The Sixers ended the road trip on a 3-game losing skid as they fell to the Jazz on Monday 134-123. He had 19 points in the opening quarter as he made a statement early. It just was not enough.

Tobias Harris added 36 points and 10 rebounds, Seth Curry had 11 points, and Dwight Howard added 14 points and 12 rebounds off the bench. Mike Scott had six in place of Embiid in the starting lineup.
