3 keys to a Jets victory vs. the Titans in Week 2

3 keys to a #Jets victory vs. the #Titans in Week 2:

The New York Jets will hope to add a win to their record in 2024 in Week 2. The team will visit the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium on Sunday.

As usual, it will never be a walk in the park in the NFL. If the Jets (0-1) expect to beat the Titans (0-1), there will be a few key things New York will have to focus on against Tennessee.

It will have to be a full-team effort, make no mistake. But these factors could weigh heavy on whether or not New York leave Tennessee with a win or loss.

Here are three keys to the Jets pulling out a victory against the Titans:

Actually stop the run

(USAT)

The Jets did not have to face All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1. It didn’t matter as backup Jordan Mason put up more than 140 yards on the ground with a touchdown. New York head coach Robert Saleh vowed the defense will be better, which is a good idea, because it’s a huge key to this game.

Make a bad QB bad

(USAT)

In the Titans’ opener against the Chicago Bears, running back Tony Pollard looked pretty good. Quarterback Will Levis did not. The Jets need to make the same thing happen defensively, which is easier said than done with how poorly New York’s defense got to the quarterback against the Niners.

Establish the run

(Imagn)

Getting running back Breece Hall on a roll, in itself, is good. However, the real key here is balance. If the Jets offensive line can make some room for Hall to work, that will allow quarterback Aaron Rodgers to do the same–again–something that did not happen last weekend.
