3 keys to a Jets victory vs. the Steelers in Week 7

The New York Jets will hope to add a win to their record in 2024 in Week 7. The team will face the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road during “Sunday Night Football.”

As usual, it will never be a walk in the park in the NFL. If the Jets (2-4) expect to beat the Steelers (4-2), there will be a few key things New York will have to focus on against Pittsburgh.

It will have to be a full-team effort, make no mistake. But these factors could weigh heavy on whether or not New York leave with a win or loss.

Here are three keys to the Jets pulling out a victory against the Steelers:

No more excuses

Robert Saleh was fired as head coach. All-Pro receiver Davante Adams was acquired via trade.

Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is out of excuses if this win does not happen. He has to perform.

Stop the run

(USAT)

The Steelers offense has leaned on their rushing attack all year. The ground game in Pittsburgh is led by running back Najee Harris and it averages 131.5 yards per game. No matter who is under center, that’s how they’re going to try and beat you.

Force Russ into mistakes

Speaking of quarterbacks, Russell Wilson will return for the Steelers this week. Wilson will start. He is prone to making mistakes in recent years. Whether it’s a pass rusher such as Will McDonald IV or someone in the secondary like Sauce Gardner, big plays that happen will lead to a win.
