3 Huskies appear in the first round of Peter Schrager’s mock draft

NFL Network’s Peter Schrager placed three Huskies in the first round of his latest mock draft, including a name that is starting to receive more buzz.

The Washington Huskies have been one of the most popular teams throughout the NFL draft cycle and with draft day quickly closing in, more draft experts and insiders are starting to put together mock drafts with what they’re hearing from around the league.

One of those insiders is NFL Network’s Peter Schrager, who put out his first edition mock draft on Tuesday morning and included three Huskies in the first round.

Rome Odunze, No. 6, Arizona Cardinals

In a projected trade with the New York Giants, the Cardinals move back two spots and land Odunze, who is the second receiver off the board in this exercise. Arizona has been linked to Odunze for a while, and he met with the team for a top-30 visit last week, where he’d immediately become quarterback Kyler Murray’s top target.

Troy Fautanu, No. 16, Seattle Seahawks

Another popular selection in mock drafts, staying in Seattle would be perfect for Fautanu. Not only would he be asked to slide in at guard, where he has an incredibly high ceiling, but he would also get to reunite with his former offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb and offensive line coach Scott Huff, who hold the same roles with the Seahawks.

Ja’Lynn Polk, No. 32, Kansas City Chiefs

A late addition to the first round, Polk would be an extremely reliable target for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who has dealt with a lot of struggles over the last few years from his wide receivers. Polk has arguably the best hands in the draft and when combined with the toughness to go over the middle of the field, that could be an exciting combination for Kansas City.
