While many of the top leagues around European soccer have already started their seasons, Spain’s La Liga is just about to kick off its opening weekend with Friday’s match between Osasuna and Sevilla.
And as usual, all eyes will be on the two La Liga giants — Barcelona and Real Madrid — for totally different reasons this season. Last year, Real Madrid had a banner season, taking home three trophies with La Liga, Champions League and Spanish Super Cup titles. Barcelona, on the other hand, looked to reload with a nearly unprecedented spending spree this transfer window. But will it matter?
