2K simulation of rest of season crowns Sixers as 2020 NBA champions

An NBA2K20 simulation crowns the Philadelphia 76ers as NBA champions for 2020.

The NBA season is currently on hold after the outbreak of COVID-19 hit the world hard and commissioner Adam Silver did the right thing in suspending the league. However, the league is left on a cliff hanger at the moment. When will the league resume? Will they go straight into the playoffs?

Well, Yahoo! Sports tried to answer that with a simulation of the popular video game, NBA2K20. They simulated the rest of the 2019-20 season plus the playoffs and the results will excite fans of the Philadelphia 76ers.

The final result had the Sixers winning the 2020 title after knocking off the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals in six games. Joel Embiid ended up winning the Finals MVP award.

The full playoff bracket had the Sixers as the 3 seed in the Eastern Conference which suggests that Philadelphia would go on a surge to end the season to overtake the Boston Celtics who are the current 3 seed in the East in real life.

Hopefully, the league can resume at some point and we can all see how the rest of the season plays out. Despite their issues, the Sixers did have real hopes of competing for an NBA title and it would be a shame to leave the season on the cliff hanger right now. [lawrence-related id=28223,28213,28205]
