247Sports reveals the best NBA draft prospect on North Carolina

RJ Davis is listed as the UNC basketball program’s best NBA draft prospect by this analyst.

As North Carolina gears up for a Sweet 16 matchup against Alabama, the team is going to need the best from its top players. That includes seniors Armando Bacot and RJ Davis.

The duo have been fantastic for the Tar Heels — two years after they helped lead them to the national championship game. Before the game, one of those players is earning national praise regarding his future in basketball.

Adam Finkelstein of 247Sports listed the best NBA draft prospect for each team in the Sweet 16. While NBA scouts aren’t high on many UNC players, Finkelstein listed Davis as the team’s best draft prospect with a second-round grade:

North Carolina may be one of the most talented teams in the country, but they don’t have any glaring NBA prospects. RJ Davis, who is one of the best guards in America, is undersized by NBA standards — especially for someone who is typically at his best off the ball. However, he is super skilled and the type of shot-maker who can translate to the NBA. He’s probably a second-round candidate, but he may be able to stick.

Davis has put together an All-American season for the Tar Heels, averaging 21.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. Despite that big season, Davis might be better served by coming back for another year to improve that draft stock.

But first things first, they need to focus on the task ahead in this NCAA Tournament.
