Texas A&M baseball coach Michael Earley landed a talented catcher, getting a commitment from a top player in Texas. On Thursday, switch-hitting catcher, Catcher Hopkins, out of Tomball, TX, announced via social media that he will join the Aggies in Bryan-College Station.
Hopkins is another athletic player who could add to his frame. Having power from both sides of the plate he led Tomball to a 2024 6A state title and was named to the State Championship All-Tournament Team. He can play all over the field and his hitting makes him a very valuable depth piece who can eventually get a few starts.
He was committed under Coach Jim Schlossnagle then reopened his recruitment when he took the job at Texas. Like several other Texas A&M recruits after speaking with Coach Early and the new staff, he recommitted trusting them to help him reach all his goals as a player.
