I don’t believe Aggie fans need to be reminded that under former head coach Jimbo Fisher, landing elite quarterback prospects outside of current starting quarterback Conner Weigman was a consistent issue due to his poor development track post-Jameis Winston during his Florida State days.
With Mike Elko and new offensive coordinator Collin Klein now at the helm, Texas A&M’s 2025 cycle is a top-ten-ranked class with the potential to rise in the rankings over the next couple of months, especially after this weekend.
Texas A&M’s coaching/recruiting staff annually hosts recruits during the last weekend in July, providing a relaxed atmosphere during their visit. Even more importantly, prospects can discuss their potential collegiate futures together in College Station.
While the list is long, 2026 5-star quarterback Ryder Lyons stands out in the cycle, as the highly talented California native has made his way to campus, posing in a picture with Collin Klein inside Aggie’s team weight room.
Lyons possesses impressive arm, accuracy, and elite touch on the field. He completed over 68% of his passes for 3,578 yards, 38 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions on the year while running for 929 yards and 23 (!) touchdowns on the ground during his 2023 sophomore season at Folsom HS.
According to 247Sports, Lyons is ranked 11th in the 2026 cycle, third in quarterback prospect, and second in California prospect.
