Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class has stayed at the No. 1 spot in the rankings after landing four commitments over the past two weeks. Head coach Mike Elko and his impressive coaching staff know that recruiting never takes a back seat, even during the football season.
Texas A&M’s 2026 cycle is impressive on its face. It is led by four-star quarterback Helaman Casuga and four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory, who look like the potential faces of the future Aggie offenses.
Wanting to add more cornerbacks to the class, 4-star CB Chaston Smith out of Chattanooga (TN) has placed the Aggies in this top 5 program list, joining Notre Dame, South Carolina, Clemson, and Indiana.
Standing at 6-1, Smith’s length and press-man skillset is a perfect fit in Elko and DC Jay Bateman’s defensive scheme, needing more speed and length outside to take away consistent downfield production on the boundary.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that 2026 4-star CB Dorian Barney, who recently decommitted from Alabama, will visit Texas A&M this weekend.
According to 247Sports, Chaston Smith is currently positioned as the 38th-ranked cornerback prospect and the 11th-ranked prospect in Tennessee.
Breaking: Top-100 CB Chaston Smith is down to five finalists and will make his college decision on December 1
