Texas A&M (8-2, 5-1 SEC) will take on the Auburn Tigers (4-6, 1-5 SEC) in a must-win road test before hosting the Texas Longhorns to end the 2024 regular season. The Aggies need to win out to reach the SEC Tile game and a spot in the College Football Playoff.
On the recruiting trail, recent Alabama decommit and 2026 4-star cornerback Dorian Barney has been on the Aggies’ radar ever since, as the senior officially visited College Station during Texas A&M’s 38-7 win over New Mexico State last weekend.
Coincidentally, the Carrollton, Georgia native will attend Saturday night’s game in Jordan-Hare Stadium for an official visit to Auburn but will also see the Aggies play for the second consecutive weekend.
For Barney, Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko’s development background at the cornerback position is too intriguing to pass up, knowing that Texas A&M’s secondary will only continue to improve year after year with Elko at the helm. However, don’t count out Georgia or Auburn in the final stretch.
According to 247Sports, Barney is currently positioned as the 66th-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, the 9th-ranked cornerback prospect, and the 8th-ranked prospect in Georgia
