Tennessee will open its 2025 baseball season on Feb. 14 versus Hofstra at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The Vols will host Hofstra for a three-game nonconference series.
Redshirt freshman catcher and first baseman Stone Lawless enters his second season at Tennessee in 2025.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Lawless did not record any statistics during his redshirt season in 2024. He was named to the 2023-24 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Lawless went to Tennessee from Huntsville High School in Huntsville, Alabama. He was a multiple letterwinner at Huntsville, rated as the No. 244 overall player in Perfect Game’s 2023 class and the No. 5 player in Alabama.
Lawless also played for Huntsville’s football team.
He committed to Tennessee over Auburn and Duke. The redshirt freshman is majoring in forensic anthropology.
Tennessee enters the 2025 campaign after winning the College World Series, SEC Tournament and the SEC regular-season championship in 2024.
