2025 Tennessee baseball preview: Utility player Dalton Bargo

Tennessee will open its 2025 baseball season on Feb. 14 versus Hofstra at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The Vols will host Hofstra for a three-game nonconference series.

Dalton Bargo enters his second season at Tennessee in 2025.

The 6-foot-1, 196-pound junior is a utility player for the Vols. He appeared in 50 games, including 27 starts, in 2024.

Bargo recorded a .280 batting average, .551 slugging percentage, .373 on-base percentage, eight home runs, 27 RBIs, 27 runs, 30 hits, five doubles, 12 walks, 37 strikeouts and two stolen bases in 107 at-bats.

He also grounded out in one double play and was hit by five pitches.

Bargo totaled 14 pickoffs, seven assists, zero errors and a 1.000 fielding percentage defensively.

He transferred to Tennessee from Missouri after the 2023 season.

Tennessee enters the 2025 campaign after winning the College World Series, SEC Tournament and the SEC regular-season championship in 2024.
