Over the past two days, rumors regarding Texas A&M’s top-ranked 2025 quarterback commit, Husan Longstreet’s growing relationship with USC Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley, began to worry Aggie fans.
Culminating into a visit to USC during the Trojans’ Week 12 home matchup vs. Nebraska, several recruiting analysts noted that the relationship is real. Longstreet quickly became a candidate to flip his commitment to USC in the coming days.
Why the sudden interest from Riley? 5-star QB Julan Lewis, the top-ranked QB in the 2025 cycle, had one foot out the door, resulting in his decommitment from the program on Sunday afternoon. Longstreet, a native of Corona, California, grew up a USC fan and was always the second candidate if Lewis had lost interest.
Even with his brother, cornerback Kevin Longstreet, on Texas A&M’s 2024 roster, it was announced that Husan had flipped his commitment to USC, ending any speculation.
