2025 4-star SF out of San Franciso (CA) has committed to Texas A&M basketball

Texas A&M basketball landed a commitment from one of the top small forward prospects in the 2025 class

Texas A&M’s basketball program under sixth-year head coach Buzz Williams has always been a work in progress. The university saw the program’s potential after back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances. Still, recruiting has always taken a back seat.

However, things have taken a positive turn over the last month, as Williams has landed commitments from 2025 4-star point guard Jeremiah Green. On Thursday, it was announced that 2025 4-star small forward Jasir Rencher chose the Aggies over LSU, BYU and Mississippi State.

After visiting Texas A&M on Oct. 7, Rencher has found his home for the next three to four years.

A top 100-ranked prospect, Rencher’s 6-5 195-pound frame makes him a wing at the next level. He consistently plays with physicality on defense, while his outside shooting is above average, with plenty of room for improvement.

What’s more intriguing is how Buzz Williams will deploy Rencher as soon as he steps on campus, as several 2024 departures might vault the freshman into the rotation.

According to 247Sports, Jasir Rencher is currently positioned as the 82nd-ranked prospect in the 2025 class, the 20th-ranked small forward, and the 9th-ranked prospect in California.
