Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class is on the brink of adding its first player in the cycle, but it’s still early. After consecutive weekends hosting a bevy of prospects, several players have already included the Aggies in their top program lists, including 2025 4-star offensive tackle Jonte Newman.
Off the bat, Newman is set to enter his senior season at Bridgeland High School in Cypress, Texas, the former record-setting home to Aggies’ starting quarterback Conner Weigman. Standing at 6-4 and weighing 275 pounds, Newman has already received over a dozen offers and has continued narrowing his options.
This week, Newman released his initial Top 8 program list, which includes Tennessee, Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas, USC, Houston, TCU and Texas A&M. Starting at left tackle during his 2023 junior season, Newman earned his second consecutive District 16-6A first-team selection at seasons end.

According to 247Sports, Newman is currently positioned as the 247th-ranked prospect in the class, the 15th-ranked interior offensive lineman and the 37th-ranked player in Texas. After now-former HC Jimbo Fisher offered him last June, Newman took an unofficial visit to College Station on July 29.
